Sound, as good as it looks

The SL300 Microphone will make your life easier and recordings clearer than ever before, just one USB cable is all that's required to make the microphone ready for action, and that's included for you too! The built in Editors Keys Extreme driver takes care of the installation process.

The SL300 features a dual 34mm internal shock mounted diaphragms and multifunction switches giving you unparallelled recording ability. (The switch on the left of the microphone is a 'low cut' switch, which cuts off any frequency below 200hz, whilst the switch on the right allows users to record at -10db.) This makes the microphone perfect for vocals and instrument recording.

This microphone has been designed to record both Vocals and Instrumentals, meaning you'll have every base covered.

Included with every Microphone is a High Quality USB 2.0 Cable, Shock-Mount and Heavy Duty Microphone Case.

Compatible with all audio and video editing programs such as Logic, Cubase, Sonar, Reason, Serato, Final Cut, Premiere, Avid, After Effects and more!

Windows 8 and 10 - 64bit Driver:
The microphone works perfectly with Mac and PC with no drivers required. If you're running Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 64bit, some systems now required signed drivers to enable the microphone.  To enable this for your 64bit Windows machine, simply download this driver: 64bit Extreme Driver.

A real sound sample.

So many companies sell microphones, however you'll notice they don't like you to hear what they sound like, as most aren't that great. Well you'll be very proud of your SL300 USB Microphone and to prove it, we got Apple's very own voice over guy 'Guy Harris' to record some unedited sound samples with the SL300:

For more information on Guy please visit:

Don't just take our word for it...

As well as being used by companies like the BBC, ITV, MTV, singers like Jessica Sanchez and Foy Vance, The SL series has also been reviewed by Rick Young, from MacVideo TV, who said the microphone compares to microphones which are worth around $2000, and even does some sound recordings which you can check out by clicking this link

At Editors Keys, we try to do our bit for the environment. Its for that reason, we've created this handy set up guide for you. You can also download the Mac/PC PDF in the tabs above this page.

Hello. I am curious if there are drivers for Windows XP for this item. Thanks for your time.

Is the Sl300 microphone compatible with apple tablets such as the iPad air?

By Christian on February 21, 2016

Hi Christian

Thanks for the email, I can confirm that the SL300 is compatible with the iPad Air (you just need the Apple USB adapter.)

Hope this helps.

ok i have two questions!

first, are there certain types of computers you have to use to use this mic?

And second, I tried using this on mac, and i followed instructions on how to plug this in, the light turns on, but i don't here anything! Please help! thanks !

By leah on April 2, 2016

Great question.

This microphone works with all computers including all Mac's, PCs and Linux systems with a USB port. To hear yourself you need to have recording equipment and ensure you've set up the microphone as your input device.

Hey i purchased this microphone and the rode psm1 shock mount, the do not seem to be compatible, what size is the threading around the output usb

By Shock mount help on April 15, 2016

Hey Thanks for the email, if you've purchased the SL300 you'll be pleased to know it comes with it's own shockmount. So we recommend you use the provided shock mount for the SL300. Some Rode mounts only tend to fit their own microphones. (you can also purchase thread adapters.)

I have an SL300 I purchased a few years ago. I worked on my Windows 7 but when I upgraded to Windows 10, it is no longer recognized by the computer. The only think I see is something for a 3.5 mm microphone. When I go to device manager, it sees a need for a driver update but when I try to run the search it cant find a driver update. How do I get my microphone to work now?

Best Tech Support Ever

By: Jeremy on December 5, 2014

When I purchased the SL300, I was so excited to use it. When it finally arrived, I instantly booted my Windows 8 Laptop and connected the Microphone. I was shocked that it didn't work. I read the literature included, I googled the problems but I couldn't find a solution. The Chat with us sincerely tried to help me but I really couldn't do about it. I realized later that neither hardware or software is the problem of the microphone and the laptop because I discovered that when I used it on my Windows 7 Laptop it worked. I assumed it might be a driver problem. After searching a while later, I finally found out that EditorsKeys finally released a driver! They were so helpful and the quality of the microphone is so great! The Audio Quality is phenomenal as well! This product gave me no Regrets! I never write reviews but I thought EditorsKeys deserved one! :)

Best Microphone Quality Around For The Price!

By: Gman on September 6, 2014

This is the best microphone for the quality and the price, I would highly recommend the SL300 microphone if you are planning on recording your voice in a professional manner, or for just everyday use it is that good!

A crisp tone and second to none audio quality, also no vibrations will come through the microphone as the condenser will remove it and the design of the microphone is fresh and very easy on the eye, so no problems in that area either.

So overall a top quality microphone!

Microphone SL300

By: Leon on August 18, 2014

Basically, the sound is good, but there is some undefinable background noise that stays, no matter how I change the Setup.
I asked the support what to do and I was said that the cable is broken. I bought a new cable, but the problem is still the same.

Such an Amazing Microphone!

By: Sim on August 15, 2014

This microphone it completely amazing, I couldn't have bought a better microphone than this and I am very happy with the price!

High quality at a low price!

By: Nino Z on June 30, 2014

I got the SL300 + desk stand and pop filter and it blew me away. I already have had a chance to get a feel of the product at a friend's place and knew the product was good before I bought it, but only after taking my time and recording a few samples and comparing those to other mics did I really understand how much bang for the buck editorskeys offers here.

Let me put it this way - I'd buy it again and I already recommended it to all of my friends. There just isn't anything like it within this price range out there!

Products and customer service are second to none!

By: Patrick W. New York, US on February 25, 2014

It's one thing to be happy about a product, but it's an entirely different thing to be so impressed by the quality, craftsmanship, and capabilities of that product (as well as the impeccable customer service of the company), that you want to tell as many people as possible about your experience... But that's exactly how I feel about EditorsKeys.

Prior to purchasing the SL300 USB condenser microphone, I had done research on this company for a full year. I watched countless hours of YouTube videos and read reviews and blog posts comparing EditorsKeys' studio equipment with that of other companies. The truth is, at least in my opinion, there is no comparison when it comes to the sound quality produced by the SL300 and comparable microphones in the same price range. In fact, I believe this product, as well as it's younger brother, the SL150, are likely on par with more expensive $2,000 microphones. You get that same high-level studio sound, and you pay, literally, a fraction of the price.

As far as shipping is concerned, I live in the U.S. and I received my product faster than I receive most things that I purchase here stateside. I placed my order last Friday and the microphone literally arrived on Wednesday afternoon (yesterday). I couldn't believe it! In fact, I placed an order on for a few accessories for my microphone on the same night that I bought the SL300 from EditorsKeys, and I kid you not, I still have yet to receive my products from Amazon. If that doesn't speak volumes about the speed of delivery for EditorsKeys' products, I don't know what does.

All in all, this is a great company with a great reputation and great products. I had a few questions prior to receiving my microphone and Giles was very diligent in answering them all. Furthermore, Mark Brown, the company director, personally reached out to me to express his appreciation that I was happy about my experience with their company.

So, if you're still on the fence and hesitating about moving forward with a purchase from EditorsKeys, all I can say is take the plunge and buy their products. The only regret that I have concerning EditorsKeys so far, is that I didn't buy the SL300 sooner, and that's the truth!

Excellent Vocal Mic

By: Jon on April 11, 2013

After struggling trying to record a female pop vocal using a Blue Snowball I bought for video voice overs, I realised that the blue was simply not up to the job and my wife who I am recording was starting to think it was a problem with her voice rather than the Mic.

I worked out that a Rode mic with a Scarlett 2i2 usm interface was the way forward but simply did not have £360 to buy that kit and we needed the vocal recorded immediately, so I took a punt on a £99 mic that had some pretty great reviews online.

Well the results have been simply amazing, we now have a professional vocal recording and the mic works so well with my wifes voice I don't think we will be rushing out to upgrade for some time.

Please note this is not perfect, there is a noticeable hum when no sound being recorded but given the all round quality of this mic I have to give it 5 stars for the recording quality, price and ease of set-up.

The only down side was some major cock-up with the delivery but the guys at Editors keys did all they could to resolve the problem at cost to them.

Real Voice

By: Mark Sanger on April 6, 2013

this mic was an amazing purchase - bought for my son - but thoroughly tested by me,

when playing back the recording - I can hear my Twin Brother Talking, which no other mic has managed to do before,
normally when listening back, nobody thinks they sound like that - and I just accepted it as that's how I sound - not anymore.

I haven't knocked this down for having no stand with it, because the mic is worth it - and lets face it - you're going to want another stand that fits your usage.

the only niggle - and so slight - I again haven't knocked it - is the lack of headphone output on the mic, but reviewing against others in the same price bracket - I would rather have an excellent mic - than a cheap one with extras,

For some reason - I find I get a better sound if the mic is Upside down - angled about 35 degrees, but I am sure you will figure out what works for you, also - I was using Audacity and Camtasia

By: Chereen on April 1, 2013

I Purchased This Mic Off The Editors Keys Website. I Would Recommend This Microphone To Anybody Who Wants To Do Pod-casts Or HIP-HOP Music etc It Has A Nice Crisp Clear Sound And For The Price I Think This Mic Is EXTREMELY GOOD.
I Upgraded From A BLUE Snowball Mic And The Quality In Sound Is Very Noticeable Thats Not To Say I Don't Like My Snowball But For The Type Of Music I Make The SL300 Is Much Better. I Love The Fact You Get A Shockmount With This Mic As well As A Hard Carry Case Incase You Need To Take The Mic With You. I Jus Wished It Had Come With A Desktop Stand But Whats An Extra £10-£20.

Definatley Rate This Mic 5 Stars I Plan To Buy More Editors Keys Gear The Mic Is Very Well Built And Sturdy Too.

SL300 - A great microphone!

By: Dan Hamilton on March 27, 2013

Why the SL300?

I am a content creator on YouTube and audio quality is very important, I did purchase a Blue snowball to start off with however it actually broke really fast and there was no contact from Blue to resolve this. I then had to act fast and order a microphone and it was a close call between 3 microphones, The Blue Yeti, Audio Technica AT2020 and the Editors Keys SL300, I cancelled out the Blue Yeti as I was put off Blue after the Snowball and lack of support. I then researched both the AT2020 and the SL300 and I was won over by the SL300. It's cheaper and offered up some more features than the AT2020.

What I think of the Sl300?

Instantly after receiving the product was I impressed with the presentation of the device, It comes in a plastic briefcase with some nice card packaging on the outside, Inside of the case it's fully padded out with nice foam to make sure nothing is damaged, This also provides easy transportation if you ever wish to pack it away after usage for whatever reason.
The audio quality is stunning, Especially with Editors Keys Dual Layer Pop filter, It works like a charm, Easy installation and nothing was really a hassle with the microphone at all.
As stupid as it sounds, I purely love the microphone for its quality look and feel, It's just amazing how much time they have put into thinking about this product, It's heavy and very sturdy so I'll give it 10/10 on build quality! Looks fantastic to have on my desk too which makes it really attractive and nice to use.

Have I had any issues with the SL300?

I have had only one problem since I've owned the SL300 and the issue purely is it doesn't show up on my pc about 2/10 times my PC is turned on. To fix it though I just unplug the mic a few times and it will pop up again, Not really sure what's up but its not a big enough problem to go through any hassle for a replacement.

It's great that they provide a shock mount with the SL300 too, Shows dedication and thought from Editors Keys, Truly a fantastic product.
If you're looking for a boost in audio, Something around the £100 mark this is your mic, Far better than the Blue range of microphones and the price on this baby is awesome :)
Everything is included pretty much out the box except a stand which you will have to buy separately.
I definitely recommend this product!

Great for voiceover for web videos!

By: Emma Clarke on March 22, 2013

I am a voiceover artist and this was perfect to do my own home recording for commercial web work. You literally just plug it in and that's that!! Great for someone who isn't techy!!

Used a pop shield also, which I think is a must.

Editor Keys SL300 Microphone

By: Ms. A. C. Reid on March 17, 2013

I really adore this microphone as it produces very high quality audio very well suited to recording female vocals. No problem with setup, simply plug into usb connection on your computer and you're ready to record your masterpiece.
Atheistically the mic looks great as it lights up a lovely blue colour when switched on. However the light does serve a practical purpose as it highlights the best area of the mic to sing into in order to achieve the best results. On the technical front this mic is really versatile, it is omnidirectional etc., check out the full specifications.

Comes with a smart sturdy padded portable case which is very handy for carrying mic around. For the price the audio quality is exceptionally good and I have no hesitation in recommending this microphone. You will also need to invest in a Digital Audio workstation which is simply a piece of software which allows you to tweek your audio. Audacity is a free programme which will allow you to experiment with manipulating your audio before moving on to a more sophisticated/quality piece of digital software. In my opinion having purchased other mics in similar price ranges e.g., Yeti - this mic knocks the sox off its competitors, as far as sound quality is concerned.

SL300 Studio USB Microphone Review

By: Joe (Lancashire) on March 12, 2013

This is by far the best microphone I have ever used. In the past I have used various microphones, such as the Blue Snowball, but this is in a different league.

The quality is crisp and clear and you really can tell the difference between this and the Snowball. The price may look a bit expensive but along with the microphone you also get a shock mount, cable and case. The best £100 pounds I have ever spent.

Amateur to Professional in one mic

By: tolu94 on March 7, 2013

I feel like such a professional when using this microphone. I originally bought it for my school choir so we could use it to record our practises.

The audio is so good I feel like the sound is transformed. Definately something you should invest in at such a great price!
