You can spend hours - if not days inside the edit, eyes focused on your bright monitor, so it's important you choose the best tools to help you become more productive than ever before.
A few months back we had a dream of creating the most advanced editing keyboard for Sonar X3, Sonar Artists, Sonar Professional and Sonar Platinum so we put our heads together and worked with thousands of editors just like you from around the world, to come up with the ultimate backlit editing keyboard.
Now for the first time you can edit faster, reduce eye strain with the world's first and only backlit editing keyboard for Sonar X3, Sonar Artists, Sonar Professional and Sonar Platinum. Say hello to the world's first backlit editing keyboard for Sonar.
From ColdPlay’s producer Rik Simpson, the BBC, Fox Network to thousands of home users, the campaign was backed from users from all over the world. The successful Kickstarter campaign reached over a huge 200% funding goal.
That's why we've developed the brand new range of backlit keyboards, all designed for your editing software.
How many times have you sat in a dark room editing, struggling to see the keyboard, or simply used a poor quality keyboard? We're getting rid of both of those problems today.
Eye strain is a big problem for most computer users and for editors working in a dimly lit room the problem can be much greater. Did you know you can be causing yourself to suffer with eye strain, back pain and neck pain?
We worked with Optical Express in the UK to ensure we developed a product which would help remove these problems.
“This innovation should significantly reduce eye strain symptoms. This will ultimately improve efficiency for the user & improve eye health in the long term” said Stephen Hannan, Clinical Services Director of Optical Express.
The keyboards are designed to help you edit faster than ever before. No more looking through PDF's to find the shortcuts for Sonar X3, Sonar Artists, Sonar Professional and Sonar Platinum.
Now you'll have them to hand. You'll be surprised how quickly you can edit.
Editors Keys are used by most of the worlds top editing suites, post production houses, recording studios and universities, so it's time for you to improve your computer set up and join the editing revolution.

Rest for weary old eyes
By: Gordon on August 25, 2015
There were a couple of reasons for choosing this keyboard from EditorsKeys. Firstly was having all of those key shortcuts right beneath my fingers without having to refer to a reference chart. Secondly I chose the backlit version over the non-lit version purely because I thought it would look good lit up (apparently I have an attraction to anything with lights on).
Removing the packaging revealed a very aesthetically pleasing inner box, like something you would expect to find on a high end consumer tablet.
Once inside, the striking coloured keys jump out at you and it is clear that thoughtful decisions had been made with the choice of colours as the contrast of the legends makes the keys very easy to read.
All of my favourite shortcuts were easily identified but discovering new shortcuts is where these keyboards excel. Having used this Sonar keyboard for only one day I find myself changing my workflow and touching the mouse & menus even less.
My Sonar rig is in an office which means I generally don't fire it up until most of the staff have left for the evening. Working until the early hours is not uncommon, as was my first trial run with the backlit keyboard.
This is where for me the real benefit lies. Switching on the backlight in the dimly lit office helps hugely when glancing between computer monitors and the keyboard. I hadn't realised how much strain was put on my eyes trying to read my old keyboard legends after looking at a bright screen. It's still early days but I am optimistic this keyboard will help reduce eye strain and perhaps some of the headaches associated with eye strain.
Worth pointing out is that the keys on the keyboard are flat and can take a little getting used to when you have used curved keys for a long time. Also if you are not a touch typist, doing a lot of tying on these keyboards isn't a great experience as the QWERTY letters take second place to the icons and don't jump out at you as on a normal keyboard. Thankfully I don't do much 'proper typing' on my Sonar rig.
This aside, I can thoroughly recommend these keyboards to anyone who like to burn the midnight oil.
