There are 2 question(s) for this product.

Does it use a battery? With type? How is it Inserted?

By Kokrou on May 31, 2016

The XLR Convertor is powered over USB, so no battery is required.

One of the reviews mentions a problem which needs the user to change the setting in FCP 7 to 44,1KHz on the VO window and change, wait a second, then change back to 48K.
Obviously this is not ideal, especially in the rather stressful and time-limited working-environment I want to use it. I edit on FCPX. Does the same problem occur with this version as we'll? Is an updated version of the firmware available to solve this problem?

Hey Jan

I can confirm this is not the case the microphone records at 48K by default. I hope this helps.

Amazing piece of kit

By: G74 on September 6, 2014

I had no problems setting this little gem up. For something so small, it really packs a substantial punch, can't believe the output is so clear and proffessional sounding. Easy to use, not a single problem with any of the features on my pc and the results are amazing. Thank your for supplying such a generously priced usb pre-amp.

SSX1 with FCP7

By: JCWS on May 31, 2014

This is a very nice unit. But on Mac Book Pro with FCP 7 however in the Voice over option I have found there is a conflict with this program that causes distortion. The work around I have found is to select 44,1KHz on the VO window and change, wait a second, then change back to 48K then its OK edit a bit more then you have to do it each time for a new VO. This is a good unit but there's something in the software that's not right. My other units (Edirol UA25) does not suffer this problem. Other wise its great!
