This isn't a sticker set or a silicone cover. We take a brand-new Apple Magic Keyboard and fit it with physical, colour-coded Editors Keys keycaps, each one hand-finished here in the UK. You keep the slim aluminium design, the precise typing feel and the Touch ID sensor, and every key is printed with its Media Composer command.

The Avid layout, printed on the keys

The keyboard follows Media Composer's default key mapping and uses Avid's familiar icon style, so it feels like home from the first cut. J, K and L shuttle playback. Frame-step keys sit on the number row alongside Play and Play In to Out. Mark In, Mark Out, Mark Clip, Go To In/Out and Clear In/Out are colour-grouped for fast three-point editing, and Go To Previous/Next Edit are on A and S.

V and B are Splice-in and Overwrite, Z and X are Lift and Extract, and M, comma, full stop and slash trim by one and ten frames. Dedicated V1, V2 and A1–A4 keys handle track selection.

The numeric keypad stays standard, ready for typing timecode.

UK and US versions

UK version: UK English layout, USB-C port, supplied with a genuine Apple woven USB-C charge cable. Touch ID requires a Mac with Apple silicon (M-series) running macOS 15.1 or later.

US version: US English layout, Lightning port, supplied with a genuine Apple USB-C to Lightning cable. Touch ID requires a Mac with Apple silicon (M-series) running macOS 11.4 or later.

On other Macs, both versions work as a standard wireless keyboard, without Touch ID.
