The world of video editing is changing fast—and Adobe Premiere Pro is at the forefront of that revolution with powerful new AI-driven features designed to dramatically speed up your workflow, eliminate tedious tasks, and enhance creative possibilities.
Whether you're a professional video editor, content creator, or YouTuber, these AI tools will help you work smarter, not harder. At Editors Keys, we're all about boosting editing productivity—and in this blog, we'll break down six of the most impressive AI features in Premiere Pro 2025, explain how they work, and show you how they can transform your editing process.
🎵 1. Audio Remix Tool – Match Music to Your Edit in Seconds
One of the most time-consuming aspects of editing is getting background music to fit perfectly within a video—without jarring cuts or awkward fade-outs. The new Audio Remix Tool in Premiere Pro does this automatically using Adobe Sensei AI.
How It Works:
-
Select the Remix Tool (nested under the Ripple Edit Tool).
-
Drag the edge of your music clip to extend or shorten it.
-
Premiere Pro intelligently analyses the waveform, re-structures the music, and ensures seamless transitions.
Why It Matters:
This tool is a huge time-saver, especially for editors working on tight deadlines. It eliminates the need to manually cut, loop, or fade music—perfect for social media videos, ads, and content with strict timing requirements.
🎞️ 2. Generative Extend – Create New Footage from Thin Air
Using Adobe Firefly’s AI engine, Generative Extend allows you to add additional video frames to the start or end of a clip—even when you didn’t film enough footage.
How It Works:
-
Select the Generative Extend Tool.
-
Drag from the beginning or end of a clip to extend it.
-
Premiere Pro will generate new frames that match the original scene’s lighting, motion, and background.
Why It Matters:
This is a game-changing feature when you need just a few more seconds to create a smooth edit or transition. Instead of resorting to awkward slow motion or cutaways, you can now let AI do the work and maintain visual continuity.
🎙️ 3. Enhanced Speech – Studio-Quality Audio, Anywhere
Audio is often the most neglected part of video editing—but it's also the most important. The new Enhanced Speech feature uses AI to make dialogue cleaner, clearer, and more professional—even if it was recorded in a noisy environment.
How It Works:
-
Select your clip and open the Essential Sound Panel.
-
Choose “Dialogue” and activate Enhance Speech.
-
Use the mix slider to control the intensity of the enhancement.
Why It Matters:
This tool removes background hums, wind, echoes, and other unwanted noise. It can turn a rough outdoor recording into something that sounds like it was captured in a soundproof studio. Just be mindful not to overdo it—extreme settings can sound slightly robotic.
🎬 4. Scene Edit Detection – Break Down Footage Instantly
Need to re-edit a final video but only have access to the exported file? The Scene Edit Detection tool saves you hours of manual labour.
How It Works:
-
Right-click the imported video in your timeline.
-
Select Scene Edit Detection.
-
Premiere automatically detects each scene change and adds cuts.
Why It Matters:
Perfect for editors who need to tweak or localise a completed project, this feature uses AI to analyse cuts and transitions, breaking the video into editable segments without needing the original timeline.
🎭 5. Morph Cut – Seamless Talking Head Transitions
Jump cuts in interviews or talking head videos can look messy and distract from your message. Morph Cut is an AI-powered transition that blends jump cuts into smooth, seamless edits.
How It Works:
-
Search for Morph Cut in the Effects panel.
-
Drag it between two similar clips.
-
Premiere uses AI to blend facial expressions and motion for a fluid transition.
Why It Matters:
This is ideal for eliminating awkward pauses, repeated takes, or stumbles in interviews—without needing extra B-roll or complex edits. It’s subtle and keeps the viewer focused on your content.
🎨 6. Auto Colour Correction – One Click to a Better Look
If you need a quick colour grade or just want a solid starting point, the new Auto Colour Correction tool is your best friend.
How It Works:
-
Select your clip and open the Lumetri Colour Panel.
-
Under Basic Correction, click the Auto button.
-
Adjust the intensity slider for more or less correction.
Why It Matters:
This feature gives your footage immediate polish, adjusting exposure, contrast, white balance, and saturation using Adobe’s AI engine. It's ideal for quick turnarounds or creating a consistent look across multiple clips.

The Morph Cut AI tool should still be in Beta at this point. It still has a LONG way to go before I will ever consider using it. Cool concept – and I can’t wait until it’s been refined enough to where it seamlessly makes simple jump cuts disappear – but that’s not the case at the moment.
