Both highlighted how this keyboard speeds up workflow, offers premium build quality, and makes Cubase shortcuts easier than ever.
PoundSound: “Sturdy, Compact, and Worth the Investment”
In his review, PoundSound was impressed by the aluminium housing, describing it as “extremely durable, lightweight, and compact”. At just 600g and 10.65mm at its tallest point, he said it’s great as both a travel keyboard and a main studio tool.
He also praised the scissor-switch keys, noting how they reminded him of a MacBook Pro keyboard – responsive, tactile, and much quieter than a mechanical setup. For anyone recording in the same room as their gear, quiet keys are a huge plus.
PoundSound highlighted how simple the Bluetooth 5.0 connection is, especially with its three programmable profiles. He uses one for his Windows studio setup and another for his Mac, switching between them instantly. He did mention a minor Bluetooth quirk with OS detection on Windows, but also praised Editors Keys for their support in helping him troubleshoot.
When it came to the colour-coded Cubase shortcuts, PoundSound broke down the scheme in detail, from green navigation keys through to red modifier shortcuts, and explained how intuitive it feels in practice. He also noted that unlike stickers or silicone covers, which he described as either peeling off or feeling like “typing on a jellyfish”, the Editors Keys keyboard provides a premium, lasting solution.

Meanwhile, Born to Produce called the Cubase keyboard a “cheat sheet to speeding up your workflow” and emphasised how it immediately helped him discover new shortcuts he’d never used before.
He explained that the 150+ built-in shortcuts, colour-coded by function, made his editing faster than ever. For example, he now uses the yellow editing tool keys far more often, instead of right-clicking for options, and discovered that Shift + Delete performs a ripple delete – something he used to dig through menus to find.
Like PoundSound, Born to Produce was impressed by the premium aluminium build, saying it reminded him of Apple quality. He also praised the quiet, responsive keys, the three-level backlighting, and the ability to switch between devices using Bluetooth profiles.
One feature he particularly appreciated was the ability to Fn-lock the function keys so they behave properly in Cubase – for example, opening the mixer with F3 instead of adjusting system audio.
On the downside, he agreed that battery life on full brightness (around 5 hours) could be improved, and found the auto-off backlight timer slightly annoying during long sessions. He also pointed out that if you use heavily customised shortcuts in Cubase, the printed mappings won’t reflect those.
Even with those caveats, Born to Produce summed it up by saying:
“Superb quality. Speeds up your workflow. Expensive, yes, but it’s going to last many, many years.”
